Below are links to several websites that have been very helpful in my search, selection, planting, and growing of the trees in my yard:
The Morton Arboretum | The Morton Arboretum is located in Chicago, IL. Their website has an excellent searchable database of trees and plants with helpful filtering criteria that allowed me to narrow down the native species that would work well in my yard. Especially helpful if, like me, you live in the Midwest.
Riverside Native Trees | This nursery is located in Delaware, OH, just north of the state capital of Columbus. I've purchased multiple trees from here including my swamp white oak and sugar maple. I've also had the chance to meet the owner who is very cool. They are mission-oriented and their website has comprehensive information on site selection, staking, pruning, and fertilization. As I've mentioned in a few of my posts, their info on fertilization is particularly interesting.
